She is elegant, functional, spacious: the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 440 is a superb machine to sail with friends and family. This yacht has 4 double cabins and can accommodate up to 10 guests who wish to sail in spacious luxury without compromising the comfort of her guests.
LIVING AREA
The fourth cabin is made by dividing the bow section into two doubles. In the 440 there is a forward facing chart table/Nav station is set to port and the galley is towards the bow. The galley itself has a beautiful island with a three burner stove and oven, double sink, freezer and refrigerator. There is an additional under floor wine cooler. 4 double cabins and two large toilets comfortably accommodate 8 people + 2 in the dinette.
To starboard, there is a generous folding dining table with a central bench seat and plenty of space to stow provisions under the seats. The table can also fold down to form an extra double berth for 2 guests, while the filtering light is exceptional, with hull and deck portholes complemented by multiple hatches.
OUTDOOR AREA
The new "walk around" side deck allows you to pass on either side without interfering with the rudder wheels. And the wheelhouses themselves have forward-facing seats so you can steer without having to twist your body and stretch your neck.
The coamers are now hinged so they can be folded back to create sunbeds on either side. In the case of the starboard pad, it can extend all the way to the cockpit table (with filler cushion). The cockpit table is also slightly offset allowing a straight passage even when one table leaf is open.
The twin wheels, large split backstay and extra large swim platform provide easy boarding and unobstructed access through the companionway.
The engine start panel is incorporated into the central cockpit mold along with the autopilot, steering compass, table/transom, and light controls. Add in Harken electric winches operated right from the cockpit and short-sea sailing is easy, safe and stress-free.
The work of art is completed by the large compass platform that extends up to the surface of the sea.
Capo d'Orlando it is certainly one of the best Marinas in all of Sicily: located right in front of the marvelous Aeolian Islands, it is 2 hours (by car) from the airports of Palermo and Catania.
With a modern and elegant design, the Marina offers everything our Clients need to prepare for embarkation and also to spend happy evenings in the nice lounges and restaurants located on the docks.

The prevailing winds around the Aeolian Islands during the summer tend to be from NW or NE, although, in calm weather, light sea breezes can be encountered from any direction blowing onto and between the islands.
While infrequent, gales are not unknown during the spring and early summer and careful forward planning are necessary as there are only two harbours which offer adequate shelter (and even then, not in strong southerlies).
