NORTH SARDINIA - COSTA SMERALDA

Sailing holidays with a touch of Glamor and Elegance

Located 4 km from Olbia airport, on the outskirts of the wonderful Costa Smeralda, Punta Asfodeli - Porto Rotondo is probably the most convenient starting point for your sailing holidays.

With a simple 5' transfer you will already feel on vacation as soon as you arrive, in one of the most luxurious holidays in the world: in the summer of 2021 the Financial Times valued the yachts moored along this coast: $4 billion! Princesses, bankers, entrepreneurs, sheiks, movie stars and sports champions spend months of vacation in this area, famous not only for the incredible crystal clear waters that recall Polynesia, but also for the glamorous nightlife offered by the marinas and breathtaking restaurants . Charles Leclerc, Valentino Rossi, Bill Gates, Oprah Withney, Nasser Al Attyah, John Elkann, Silvio Berlusconi, Princes Charles of Wales, Eros Ramazzotti, Cristiano Ronaldo and many more will swim alongside your catamaran.

Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo

Gallura is the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, famous for its sparkling life at sea and for the elegant squares in the Marinas. The whole area is wonderful for catamaran holidays: it opens out into the turquoise waters of the Costa Smeralda and into small coves that hide small golden sandy beaches. Let yourself be enchanted by the golden sunrise in the mornings and let yourself be lulled by the never annoying waves thanks to the thousand islets in the area. Spend your afternoons in relaxing walks on the countless golden beaches and in the evening among the elegant boutiques of luxury brands in Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo. A sailing holiday here is certainly a refined experience, as well as a spectacular one.

Polto Quatu

Certainly in past centuries it was a hidden cove for pirates, today it is a miniature of Porto Cervo for the elegance and quality of its shops and restaurants. The elegant marina is very narrow and the rocks around it light up at night with colored beams, making the entire Marina a very spectacular place to stay. Rent your sailboat with skipper and he will be able to take you to this corner of paradise without problems.

La Maddalena Island

An ideal destination and a must on any itinerary for your sailing vacation. The island of La Maddalena is renowned for its beaches and is connected to the nearby island of Caprera by an elevated road. The beaches of Spalmatore and Bassa Trinità are very famous and spectacular to visit.

Caprera Island

This island is an integral part of the Maddalena archipelago and is a protected nature reserve. Famous for being the last home of Giuseppe Garibaldi, it boasts an uncontaminated landscape. A jagged coast divides the island into two parts: the eastern part, sheltered by rocks and natural Mediterranean vegetation, is wilder and less practical, the western part of the island is much more popular and ideal for families, dotted with beaches of very fine sand and crystal clear waters. Do not miss both Cala Coticcio and Cala Garibaldi and Cala Caprese.

Islands of Spargi and Budelli

Spargi is certainly one of the most famous places to visit for those lucky enough to rent a sailboat. Reachable only by sea, it includes numerous islets such as Spargiotto and Spargiotello which attract a lot of interest, as well as the numerous coves caressed by transparent waters, with many bright colors and enchanted beaches. Proceeding along the coast you will come across a multitude of incredible places such as Cala Corsara, Cala Soraia, Cala Granara, Cala Conneri and the battlements of Punta Zanotto, camouflaged by the boulders and dense vegetation.

Budelli is certainly one of the most photographed locations in the world. Pink Beach and Cavaliere Beach offer such transparent water that not even Polynesia offers. The passages between the islands are as beautiful as they are complicated by a thousand hidden rocks: we sincerely recommend that you rent your sailboat with a skipper on board. He will know where and when to take you, in total safety and maximum relaxation. Opposite is the island of Santa Maria, where you can go ashore for a drink and a stroll on the sparkling beach of the same name.

Saint Teresa of Gallura

It is the northernmost port of Sardinia, facing Corsica (France), from which it is only 10 nM, i.e. 2 hours of navigation by sailboat. It is small and welcoming, especially in the upper part of the Village, where you will find typical shops and restaurants for every budget and style.

Island of Lavezzi (Corsica)

This islet of rocks and sand, in the middle of the Bocche di Bonifacio (between Sardinia and Corsica) seems to have been created for nature and sea lovers as it must have been centuries ago. Its rugged beauty includes splendid natural pools and panoramic stretches of sand where you can enjoy a sunbath or long swims at sunset, among rocks and granite rocks of breathtaking beauty. Difficult to anchor your sailboat here, but if you succeed you will be speechless at sunset!

La Piantarella (Corsica)

The clearest waters are here: this small island can be reached on foot by walking in the 1m deep water. The transparency of the waters is incredible and so is the scenery, facing the luxurious Sperone Golf Club with its green lawns and VIP villas overlooking the bay.

Porto Vecchio (Corsica)

In this area you will find one after the other splendid paradises such as white sandy beaches and emerald waters, immersed in spectacular unspoiled and often wild landscapes. Added to these are a myriad of hidden coves hidden along the coast bordered by cliffs, small corners of poetic peace.

Santa Giulia Bay and Baia Rondinara (Corsica)

The water is exceptionally shallow and calm, with small areas of reef that are easy to pass over. Santa Giulia is the ideal beach for the little ones, therefore a very popular destination for families on a catamaran or sailing boat.

Rondinara is a small gulf formed by a sandy beach surrounded by maritime pines about 10 nM from Bonifacio. Famous for its crystal clear sea, white sand and luxuriant nature, it represents a wonderful combination of intense colors and scents, both from the sea and from the pine forest that protects the bay. A great restaurant is located directly on the beach, but get there barefoot!

Port of Bonifacio (Corsica)

A veritable fjord between falaises as white as cream! Although officially part of France, this city has a very Italian character and incredible light cliffs. With so many places to choose from to have fun in the evening and at night, a wide choice of restaurants where for an "authentic taste of Corsica" you can taste many local recipes. Not far from Bonifacio you will find the beach or cove of Stagnolu, among the nudist beaches of Corsica. This beach due to its small size, accessible only by sea with your boat or catamaran: again, better with a skipper, the spaces between the cliffs are small!

Roccapina cove (Corsica)

On the south-west coast, not far from Bonifacio, there is Roccapina beach: a small white sand beach set between rocky cliffs. Once you reach the Torre di Roccapina, which gives its name to the beach, on foot, you can go down to the opposite side and enjoy the beach of Erbaju, beautiful, uncrowded and wild as only Corsica can offer.

Silver Beach (Corsica)

Located in the Gulf of Murtoli, near Roccapina, it is an environment of rare beauty. It is a small but charming quiet beach and its rocky cliffs give it a paradisiacal character. Difficult to reach except by catamaran or sailboat, it offers its visitors breathtaking views and dives into a Caribbean sea.
